[08-24-2025] Two Killed, One Injured in Suspected DUI Crash at Central and Santa Clara Avenues Near OxnardTwo people were killed and another was injured in a suspected DUI crash involving a BMW and a pickup truck near Oxnard on Sunday morning, August 24, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of Central Avenue and Santa Clara Avenue.

Authorities said a white Chevrolet pickup was traveling southbound on Santa Clara Avenue and entered the intersection as a white BMW, traveling westbound on Central Avenue, ran a red light. The BMW struck the driver’s side of the pickup, sending both vehicles to the southwest corner of the intersection.

The pickup’s occupants, a 75-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman, both from Piru, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The BMW driver, identified as a 19-year-old man from Santa Paula, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
