A 92-year-old pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in San Diego’s Park West neighborhood on Monday evening, August 18, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred around 7:50 p.m. at the intersection of Sixth Street and Grape Street.
A 78-year-old woman driving a 2020 Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Sixth Street when she struck the man as he was crossing in the crosswalk.
The victim sustained a brain contusion but did not require surgery, authorities said.
It was unclear whether the pedestrian had the green light at the time of the crash. Officers from the SDPD Traffic Division responded and are continuing their investigation.
