According to authorities, the crash occurred on Highway 101 Northbound, where both vehicles came to rest, prompting officials to close the roadway while crews worked to separate and tow them.

Officials said the driver of the SUV managed to escape the vehicle and was transported by ambulance to Marian Medical Center with injuries described as minor to moderate. The truck driver declined medical transport.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
