[07-21-2025] One Killed, Three Injured in Stolen Van Crash on Broadway in EurekaA woman was killed and three pedestrians were injured in a crash involving a stolen van in Eureka on Monday, July 21, 2025.

According to the Eureka Police Department, the van was traveling at high speed northbound when it left the roadway at W. Grant Street, jumped a curb, and continued along the sidewalk.

The vehicle entered a parking lot in the 900 block of Broadway, crossed W. Washington Street, crashed through a fence, and struck two parked vehicles, one of which was occupied.

Three pedestrians were injured by debris scattered during the collision. The van caught fire after striking a curb and became fully engulfed, igniting one of the vehicles it collided with. Authorities said a total of 12 vehicles were damaged in the incident.

The driver of the van, a female, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office is working to confirm her identity and notify next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation.
