A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in Chula Vista on Thursday night, June 26, 2025.
According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:36 p.m. in the 700 block of Third Avenue.
A white 2016 Toyota Corolla traveling northbound struck a pedestrian who was crossing midblock from west to east, outside of a marked crosswalk.
The driver, a 53-year-old man from National City, remained at the scene and was uninjured. Police stated that he has been cooperative and that alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.
Paramedics provided lifesaving aid before transporting the unidentified male pedestrian to a nearby trauma center. He remains hospitalized in critical condition with serious internal injuries.
CVPD’s Traffic Bureau is actively investigating the incident.
