[06-20-2025] One Killed, Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 Near Cannon RoadOne person was killed, and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Cannon Road in Monterey County on Friday afternoon, June 20, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. when a white car traveling westbound on Rocks Road attempted to cross the northbound lanes of Highway 101.

The vehicle was struck on the front left side by a white truck traveling northbound, causing the truck to veer off the road and into a ravine.

CHP officials reported that the driver of the white car was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the same car sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The truck driver suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment. 

The crash remains under investigation.
