An elderly man was killed, and a woman sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle rollover crash in Redding early Monday morning, June 23, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 6:15 a.m. on Highway 273 near Whitehouse Drive.
CHP officials stated that the collision involved a red Chevrolet pickup and a white Ford Ranger, both of which sustained major damage. The red Chevrolet reportedly pulled into the path of the oncoming Ford Ranger, failing to yield the right of way.
The driver of the red Chevrolet, an elderly male, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of his next of kin.
The female driver of the Ford Ranger was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the crash.
Emergency crews from CAL FIRE and medical responders assisted at the scene. Both vehicles were towed as part of the ongoing investigation.
