A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a vehicle on southbound Interstate 880 near the Oakland Coliseum on Sunday evening, May 11, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. near Hegenberger Road.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
The collision blocked the two right lanes of the highway for several hours, leading to significant traffic delays extending past the 66th Avenue exit.
It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
