[05-07-2025] Semi-Truck Crashes Into Starbucks on North Coast Highway in Oceanside, Two InjuredTwo people were injured after a semi-truck crashed into a Starbucks on North Coast Highway in Oceanside early Wednesday morning, May 7, 2025.

According to the Oceanside Fire Department, the crash occurred around 4:45 a.m. at 801 North Coast Highway. 

A semi-truck veered off the roadway and collided with the building, causing significant damage and trapping the driver inside the cab.

Rescue efforts were delayed due to an electrical hazard. Firefighters were able to extricate the driver after San Diego Gas & Electric shut off the building’s power. The driver and an employee inside the Starbucks sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.

Authorities confirmed that all occupants were evacuated from the building. A hazardous materials team responded due to a potential diesel fuel leak, but no dangerous spill was found. The building was declared temporarily unsafe pending a full structural evaluation.

The Oceanside Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
