A woman and her dog were attacked by an unidentified man’s dog near the Kennedy Mine Amphitheater in Jackson on Tuesday morning, April 22, 2025.
According to the Jackson Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:55 a.m. while the woman was walking her dog.
A tan-colored pit bull-type dog reportedly charged at her, knocking her to the ground and attempting to bite both her and her pet.
Police said a man appeared from a nearby mine and managed to pull the dog off the woman, but left the scene on foot without offering assistance. His identity remains unknown.
Authorities described the dog as tan in color and resembling a pit bull. The investigation is ongoing.
