[04-14-2025] Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle on Highway 70 in OrovilleA pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing Highway 70 in Oroville, Butte County, on Monday night, April 14, 2025.

According to the Oroville California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. when 38-year-old Dustin P. ran into the southbound lane of Highway 70 from the west side of the road. 

Monique D., 22, was driving in the area and attempted to avoid hitting Perry by braking and swerving, but was unable to avoid the collision. Emergency personnel provided treatment at the scene, but the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries.

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office conducted a coroner investigation. Authorities confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

The collision remains under investigation.
