A crash involving two overturned vehicles led to the closure of southbound Highway 99 in Modesto on Friday night, March 21, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, emergency crews responded to the scene near Carpenter Road at around 9:15 p.m. Caltrans confirmed the highway was shut down following the incident.
Radio dispatch communications from the Modesto Fire Department indicated that at least one ambulance was requested to the scene. The extent of injuries remains unclear.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, and traffic was diverted while emergency responders worked at the scene.
