A woman and a child were injured following a collision between a big rig and a Honda Civic on northbound Interstate 215 in Perris on Wednesday afternoon, March 19, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 3:00 p.m., less than a half-mile north of the Ramona Expressway. The impact caused the Honda Civic to become partially wedged underneath the tractor-trailer.
Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived within minutes and initially prepared for a cut-and-rescue operation. However, firefighters were able to open a door without cutting into the vehicle, safely extricating the two occupants.
Both victims were transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment of minor injuries.
Two of the three freeway lanes were closed immediately after the crash, but officers reopened one lane shortly after, leaving only one lane closed as of 3:40 p.m.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
