[03-16-2025] 58-Year-Old Woman Killed After Two-Vehicle Head-On DUI Crash in PalaA 58-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash involving a suspected drunk driver in Pala, San Diego County, early Sunday morning, March 16, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers received a report of a collision between a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Mitsubishi Outlander on State Route 76 east of Lilac Road at around 1 a.m.

Investigators determined that the Chevrolet veered into oncoming traffic, striking the Mitsubishi before overturning.

Paramedics transported the Mitsubishi’s driver to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The Tahoe’s driver, identified as 38-year-old Jason A. of Pala, was arrested and booked into Vista Jail on suspicion of murder, gross vehicular manslaughter, and DUI.

Authorities confirmed that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
