[03-08-2025] One Killed, Another Injured After Two-Vehicle Crash on SR-70A man was killed, and a woman sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Sutter County on Saturday afternoon, March 8, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol Yuba-Sutter, the crash occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. when a 49-year-old man driving a Jeep Patriot eastbound on Berry Road stopped at the stop sign on State Route 70.

Authorities reported that the Jeep continued across SR-70 into the path of a northbound Ford F-150 driven by a 30-year-old woman. She was unable to avoid the collision, causing both vehicles to leave the roadway and crash into a stop sign pole and a light pole.

Emergency responders pronounced the Jeep driver dead at the scene. The Ford driver was transported to Adventist Health + Rideout Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

CHP stated that alcohol and drugs were not considered factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
