A pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Chico, on Saturday night, March 1, 2025.

According to the Chico Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 11:26 p.m. in the 200 block of East Avenue.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian down in the roadway. Medical personnel provided immediate care before transporting the victim to Enloe Hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to examine the scene. Authorities confirmed that the driver involved remained at the location and cooperated with the investigation. At this time, alcohol or drug impairment is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

Eastbound lanes of East Avenue were shut down for approximately two hours as authorities conducted their investigation.
