A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Union Avenue in Bakersfield on Tuesday night, February 25, 2025.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the crash occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. in the 900 block of Union Avenue, near East 9th Street.
The man was walking east across Union Avenue when a northbound Honda struck him.
The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities stated that speed and impairment were not factors in the crash. No other injuries were reported.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
