A street vendor selling tamales was among three people injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Western Avenue and 3rd Street in Koreatown, Los Angeles, on Monday morning, February 24, 2025.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the collision occurred just before 6:00 a.m. when two vehicles T-boned each other and then struck the tamale vendor who was sitting on the sidewalk.

The two vehicles involved were identified as a black Chevy Volt and a red Kia Stinger. The impact left debris scattered across 3rd Street, and the vehicles ended up on opposite sides of the street, suggesting that speed may have been a factor.

The tamale vendor and two other individuals, including a minor, were transported to the hospital. Their conditions were not reported as critical.

The intersection of Western Avenue and 3rd Street is expected to remain closed for several hours as authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
