A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries following a collision caused by a driver running a red light in Fresno on Sunday evening, February 2, 2025.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the crash occurred just after 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Blackstone and Herndon Avenues.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a 27-year-old motorcyclist lying in the roadway with severe injuries.
Investigators determined that an 18-year-old driver of a black BMW was traveling westbound on Herndon Avenue, preparing to make a southbound turn onto Blackstone Avenue. The driver mistakenly believed his traffic signal was green and turned left, directly into the path of the motorcyclist, who had the right of way.
Emergency responders transported the injured motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he was stabilized.
The driver of the BMW remained at the scene and was cited for a red light violation. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
