Six individuals, including two pedestrians, were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after a delivery van collided with multiple vehicles on Stearns Wharf in Santa Barbara on Saturday afternoon, January 11, 2025.
According to Sgt. Bryan Kerr of the Santa Barbara Police Department, a white delivery van lost control shortly before 4:00 p.m. near the end of the wharf, striking 10 vehicles—most of which were parked. The van also seriously injured two pedestrians before crashing into a wooden barrier at the wharf’s end.
Battalion Chief Cory Cloud of the Santa Barbara City Fire Department confirmed that the injured included occupants of a four-door sedan. AMR ambulances transported all six victims to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
The driver of the van was interviewed by law enforcement at the scene and later taken to Cottage Hospital for treatment related to a pre-existing medical condition.
Authorities stated that the collision did not appear to be intentional. Stearns Wharf remains partially closed as the investigation continues.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
