[12-18-2024] Butte County, CA – Three People Injured After Two-Vehicle DUI Collision in Paradise

Three people sustained injuries following a two-vehicle collision on the Skyway near Adventist Health in Paradise, Butte County, on Wednesday afternoon, December 18, 2024.

The Paradise Police Department reported that the crash occurred around 3:50 p.m. when a Toyota truck traveling southbound collided with a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Magalia resident Darian O. 

Authorities stated that Darian’s vehicle exited the medical center directly into the path of the oncoming truck, causing the collision. The impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway, with Darian’s vehicle overturning. 

Emergency responders extricated Darian from the overturned vehicle, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Two of the four occupants in the Toyota truck also sustained injuries and were hospitalized.

Police suspect Darian of driving under the influence. The incident is under investigation.
