[12-17-2024] Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Hit by Pickup Truck on Main Street in HesperiaA 33-year-old male pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a pickup truck at the intersection of Main Street and E Avenue in Hesperia on Tuesday evening, December 17, 2024.

The collision occurred around 5:55 p.m. when the pedestrian, identified by his parents as their autistic son, exited a nearby Stater Bros store and began walking toward Main Street.

Witnesses reported that the pedestrian entered the intersection on a red traffic signal. As the light turned green, a white 2010 GMC Canyon Work Truck traveling eastbound on Main Street was unable to stop in time and struck him.

Emergency responders from San Bernardino County Fire transported the pedestrian to a local hospital. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

The driver of the truck, an adult male, expressed remorse and fully cooperated with deputies investigating the incident.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the collision.
