One person was hospitalized with burn injuries following a fiery multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in Castaic, Los Angeles County, early Monday morning, December 16, 2024.
According to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez of the California Highway Patrol Newhall Office, the crash occurred at approximately 8:39 a.m. on the northbound lanes of I-5, south of Parker Road. Two vehicles caught fire as a result of the collision.
Personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene, and one individual with burn injuries was transported to a nearby hospital, Fire Department spokesperson Geovanni Sanchez reported. Observations on the scene indicated that one of the vehicles involved was a white truck.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation by the CHP.
