One person was injured and taken to the hospital following a multi-vehicle collision involving a big rig on southbound Interstate 5 in Sacramento on Friday evening, December 13, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just north of Interstate 80 when a Hyundai rear-ended a Subaru. The impact caused the Subaru to spin across all lanes, ultimately colliding with the passenger side of a big rig.
Emergency responders reported that the driver of the Subaru lost consciousness due to the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital. The extent of the driver’s injuries remains unknown.
The CHP is continuing its investigation into the cause of the crash.
