Three people were hospitalized with minor injuries following a two-car collision in Palm Desert during a police pursuit of theft suspects on Monday afternoon, November 25, 2024.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies were dispatched around 1:30 p.m. to a business in the 72-000 block of Highway 111 regarding a theft involving three suspects who fled in a white vehicle.
Deputies located the suspect’s vehicle near Hovley Lane and Portola Avenue, but the driver failed to stop, prompting a pursuit. The vehicle stopped briefly on Washington Street to drop off one of the suspects, who was immediately detained. The driver then collided with another car at Hovley Lane.
The two remaining suspects in the fleeing vehicle and the driver of the other car were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation to determine the charges the suspects may face. Further details have not yet been released.
