According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the incident happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. near Santa Lucia Canyon Road and involved up to four vehicles.

Emergency responders, including fire officials, reported that three individuals suffered major injuries, one sustained moderate injuries, and two others had minor injuries. Several patients required extrication from their vehicles.

California Highway Patrol officers are leading the investigation into the collision’s cause.
