A man in a wheelchair was fatally struck by a sedan on Watt Avenue in North Highlands, Sacramento County, on Friday evening, November 15, 2024.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Justin Fetterly, the collision occurred when a southbound sedan driven by a man in his 40s struck the pedestrian, a man in his late 20s, just north of Roseville Road.
The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
CHP officials stated that drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash. The circumstances surrounding the collision, including why the pedestrian was in the traffic lane, remain under investigation.
