[10-22-2024] 85-Year-Old Woman Killed, Two Others Injured After Single-Vehicle Collision on Highway 126An 85-year-old woman died, and two other passengers suffered minor injuries after a single-vehicle crash on eastbound Highway 126 in Fillmore on Tuesday evening, October 22, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol-Moorpark Area, the crash occurred around 5:04 p.m. west of Hopper Canyon Road. 

CHP’s initial investigation revealed that the 2015 Honda Accord was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control, striking a metal post, a telephone pole guide wire, and a boulder before stopping on the right shoulder.

The right rear passenger, identified as Maria C., 85, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by Ventura County Fire Department personnel. The two other passengers, a 60-year-old and a 31-year-old, both from Fillmore, sustained minor injuries.

The CHP stated that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
