[10-20-2024] 77-Year-Old Man Killed After Crash Near Pinnacles National ParkA 77-year-old man died after being struck by a truck near Pinnacles National Park in San Benito County on Sunday afternoon, October 20, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Airline Highway, just east of Pinnacles Ranch, around 2:30 p.m. 

The victim, identified as Joseph S. of Pacines, was attempting to open a gate when he was run over by a silver truck.

CHP confirmed that the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation; however, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors.

No arrests have been made at this time.
