[10-17-2024] One Killed, Another Injured After Car Crash on Centerville Road Ravine A man was killed, and another was severely injured following a crash on Centerville Road in Butte County on Thursday evening, October 17, 2024.

According to authorities, the California Highway Patrol received a call around 5:40 p.m. reporting that a vehicle had gone off a ravine. Emergency responders, including CAL FIRE, found a red Toyota 4Runner approximately 300 to 400 feet down an embankment.

Two men in their 50s were at the scene. One man was pronounced dead, while the other was transported to Enloe Health with major injuries. Rescue crews used a rope system to extract the victims from the ravine.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
