[10-16-2024] Pedestrian Fatally Struck After Hit-And-Run Incident on King RoadA man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run incident while crossing a street in East San Jose on Wednesday night, October 16, 2024.

According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to King Road near Salamoni Court around 8:15 p.m. after receiving a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. 

The driver of a 2012 Dodge Caravan, traveling southbound on King Road, struck the pedestrian who was crossing westbound outside of a marked crosswalk. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

The driver fled the scene but was located and arrested by officers shortly afterward. The investigation is ongoing.
