According to the Oroville Police Department, the incident occurred as the juvenile was crossing in a designated crosswalk from Orange Avenue to Washington Avenue when they were struck by an older grey Jeep Cherokee, which fled the scene down Washington Avenue.

The juvenile was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. Police are currently investigating the case and urge any witnesses to come forward.
