A two-vehicle crash on Friars Road in Mission Valley, San Diego, led to an emergency rescue of one driver on Tuesday night, October 8, 2024.
According to San Diego Police, the collision occurred just before 11:00 p.m. and involved a pickup truck and a small white car near Mission Center Road.
Witnesses reported that the impact caused the white car to slam into a light pole, trapping the driver inside.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene and successfully extricated the driver, who was then transported to a nearby hospital with neck pain.
The driver of the pickup truck was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The San Diego Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
