According to the Fremont Police Department, the initial crash occurred on eastbound Mission Boulevard near Warm Springs Boulevard at approximately 5:50 a.m. Officers arrived to find the male pedestrian deceased in the street.

An investigation revealed that the pedestrian was standing in the roadway when he was hit by the bus. The bus driver and other involved vehicle operators remained at the scene, and police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be factors in the incident.

The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released. The investigation is ongoing.
