One person was killed following a two-vehicle crash on the 15 Freeway at Cajon Pass, San Bernardino County, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported just after 11:00 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway, near the runaway truck ramp north of Highway 138.
The collision involved a pickup truck that went through a guardrail and a sedan that overturned near the center divider. San Bernardino County coroner’s officials were called to the scene after confirming the fatality.
The two left-hand lanes on the southbound freeway remained closed until about 6 p.m. due to an ongoing investigation and repairs to the guardrail.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
