[10-02-2024] Two Women Injured After Single-Vehicle Rollover DUI Crash on I-8 in La MesaTwo women were hospitalized following a single-vehicle rollover DUI crash in La Mesa on early Wednesday morning, October 2, 2024.

The crash occurred just after midnight on eastbound Interstate 8 near Spring Street, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. 

Authorities stated that the driver lost control of the vehicle, drove up an embankment, and subsequently flipped over.

With the car upside down on the freeway, both women managed to crawl out of the wreckage and were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The CHP had to bulldoze the car to clear the freeway lanes following the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
