[10-01-2024] Bicyclist Critically Injured After Crash at Hartnell and Cypress AvenueA 41-year-old bicyclist, Justin P., is in critical condition following a crash with a vehicle in Redding on Tuesday morning, October 1, 2024.

According to the police, at around 11:54 a.m., the cyclist was riding westbound through stopped traffic on Hartnell Avenue when he collided with a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Kao S. The driver had turned southbound onto Hartnell from Cypress Avenue.

The cyclist, who was not wearing a helmet and was reportedly riding illegally in the lane, was taken to Mercy Medical Center. The driver was unharmed. 

The details are still being investigated. No further information is immediately available.
