[09-28-2024] Three Killed, Several Injured After Two-Vehicle DUI Crash on State Route 99Three people were killed and multiple others were injured in a two-vehicle DUI crash in Sutter County on Saturday morning, September 28, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at around 11:40 a.m. on State Route 99 near SR-113 and Tudor Road.

Authorities stated that a Dodge Challenger traveling southbound at a high rate of speed crossed the solid double yellow lines and collided head-on with a northbound Nissan Sentra.

Two occupants of the Nissan and the driver of the Dodge were pronounced dead at the scene. The Dodge carried five people, and the driver was among the fatalities. Three others from the Dodge were taken to a local hospital, while another was picked up by a relative.

CHP believes alcohol played a role in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
