[09-24-2024] Man Critically Injured After DUI Hit-And-Run Crash in VacavilleA man was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in Vacaville, Solano County, on Tuesday night, September 24, 2024.

Vacaville Police officers and firefighters were dispatched at approximately 10:43 p.m. to the area of Vaca Valley Parkway and the Interstate 505 overcrossing, regarding a person lying on the shoulder of the road. 

Fire personnel found an injured, unconscious individual with injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle. The victim, a 25-year-old Vacaville resident, was transported to an area hospital and remains in critical condition, according to Vacaville Police on Thursday morning.

About 10 minutes after being dispatched, officers discovered a Honda sedan and the suspected driver approximately 2 miles west of the scene on the dead end of Rice Lane. The car had visible damage consistent with having been involved in a collision, police said.

The Vacaville Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to investigate the collision. Nathaniel J., 21, of Vacaville, was arrested and booked into the Solano County Jail for felony driving under the influence and felony hit-and-run.
