[09-26-2024] Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Chula VistaA pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Chula Vista on Thursday night, September 26, 2024.

According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of Telegraph Canyon Road at Paseo Ranchero. 

Responding officers discovered a pedestrian who had been standing in the roadway when they were hit by a vehicle. Witnesses, along with police and fire department personnel, administered first aid to the pedestrian; however, the victim was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. 

The victim is believed to be between the ages of 20 and 25, but their identity has not yet been released. The driver, a 69-year-old Chula Vista resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. 

Authorities indicated that alcohol is not considered a factor in this crash. The Chula Vista Traffic Bureau is handling the investigation into the fatal collision.
