[09-24-2024] Female Driver Killed After Two-Vehicle Collision on Carpenter Road Overpass in ModestoA female driver was killed after a two-vehicle collision in Modesto on Tuesday afternoon, September 24, 2024.

According to the Modesto Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:30 PM on the Carpenter Road overpass near South 9th Street. 

A Nissan Rogue was traveling north while a Toyota Tacoma was heading south when the two vehicles collided. The driver of the Nissan, an unidentified woman from Hilmar, was transported to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. 

Police reported no indication that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash, and the circumstances leading up to it are under investigation.
