A semi-truck driver was injured following a hit-and-run incident involving a white SUV on Highway 41 in Fresno on Friday afternoon, September 20, 2024.
The crash occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. in the northbound lane near the Highway 99 interchange.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the SUV rear-ended the semi-truck carrying a steel box container, causing the container to fall onto the right lanes of the highway. The SUV then overturned, coming to rest in the fast lane.
The driver of the semi-truck sustained injuries, while the SUV driver fled the scene on foot. Authorities are currently searching for the suspect, and the status of the SUV driver remains unknown.
CHP has stated that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
