At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Riverside County late Thursday night, September 12, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 11:50 p.m. at Pierce Street and the eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway.
The crash involved a Subaru, a white Toyota Corolla, and a tan Chevy Tahoe, which ended up blocking the middle lanes of the freeway. The collision caused significant debris to scatter across all lanes.
A family was reportedly trapped inside one of the vehicles. Emergency crews responded promptly, and the CHP issued a SigAlert for the freeway closure, which lasted several hours as they investigated the cause of the crash.
The Riverside County CHP continues to investigate the incident. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
