[09-09-2024] Orange County, CA – Three People Injured After Fast-Moving Brush Fire in Trabuco Canyon

Firefighters are battling the Airport Fire, a fast-moving brush fire in Orange County that has injured three people and led to evacuations in Trabuco Canyon on Monday afternoon, September 9, 2024.

The fire started just before 1:30 p.m. along the 32200 block of Trabuco Creek Road near a field used for remote-controlled airplanes. 

According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the blaze quickly spread, burning over 9,300 acres.

Two firefighters sustained heat-related injuries and were transported to a local hospital. One civilian was also taken to a local hospital due to smoke inhalation.

Evacuations have been ordered for residents in the affected area as firefighting efforts continue.
