A woman died three days after being struck by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk in Long Beach on Wednesday morning, September 4, 2024.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of West 23rd Street and Santa Fe Avenue.
The woman was walking in a marked crosswalk when a driver made a left turn from West 23rd Street onto Santa Fe Avenue and struck her.
The woman was transported to a hospital by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics, where she succumbed to her injuries three days later. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has not released the woman’s identity pending notification of her relatives.
