A 76-year-old pedestrian died from her injuries after being hit by a car on South Twin Oaks Valley Road in San Marcos on Friday night, September 6, 2024.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred around 9:10 p.m. near Shubin Lane.
A white Toyota Camry driven by a female driver was heading southbound on South Twin Oaks Valley Road when it struck the pedestrian.
The victim was transported to the Palomar Medical Center Trauma Unit with serious injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The driver remained at the scene, and authorities indicated that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
The identities of both the victim and the driver have not been released, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
