A man was killed, and a woman was rushed to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 26 in Calaveras County on Thursday afternoon, September 5, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred near Gold Creek Drive, just south of Valley Springs. The vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree.
The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while an adult female passenger was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the cause is under investigation.
