One person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash involving an MTA bus in South Los Angeles on Sunday night, September 1, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were dispatched at 11:29 p.m. to the intersection of Figueroa Street and Century Boulevard.

Metro spokesman Dave Sotero reported that Line 81 was stopped at a red traffic signal behind another vehicle when a third vehicle, attempting to make a left turn, collided with the vehicle in front, pushing it into the bus. The bus sustained minor damage to its bike rack.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene and transported one person to a hospital. The condition of the injured individual was not immediately known.

The incident remains under investigation. Police have not confirmed media reports suggesting that the two vehicles may have been involved in a street takeover.
