A motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries after crashing into a vehicle on Churn Creek Road in Redding on Tuesday afternoon, August 27, 2024.
According to the Redding Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:07 p.m., prompting the closure of both north and southbound lanes of Churn Creek Road between Maraglia Street and Hartnell Avenue.
Lieutenant Jon Sheldon reported that two motorcyclists were traveling north on Churn Creek Road when a white pickup truck exited a private driveway in front of them. Both motorcyclists collided with the truck.
One of the motorcyclists sustained fatal injuries, while the condition of the other motorcyclist is currently unknown.
Police do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be a factor in the crash, but the investigation remains ongoing.
