A 73-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Tarzana, Los Angeles, late Thursday night, August 15, 2024.
The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. at the intersection of Corbin Avenue and Ventura Boulevard.
According to witnesses, the elderly man was crossing the street when he was hit by a gray Honda Civic that fled the scene immediately after the collision.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that the pedestrian was thrown in an easterly direction before colliding with the roadway. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Nathon J. of Reseda, was later arrested at his residence after police located the abandoned Honda Civic. He was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing death and is being held on $30,000 bail.
